Thursday's Quick Takes - The Office, Grey's

Quickly because I have a flight to catch at 6am and I need to go to bed...

The Office

  • Michael Scott broke my heart once again. I'm so happy that they keep the sad pathetic nature to the David Brent/Michael Scott role. His lonely and pointless existence is so cringe worthy that it makes me sad and happy to be sad.

  • Hands down the best moment was Jim walking in on Angela and thinking she was a hooker that Dwight (sorry "D") had ordered! The look of panic, terror, and excitement on Jim's face was masterful.

  • A great episode. So different from last weeks non-stop laugh-fest but not a second short of brilliant.

Grey's Anatomy
  • Um, hello McSteamy! Sweet McJesus! Why were towels invented? Why aren't we in European countries where we could see the full glory behind that McTowel?

  • Bailey (er, The Nazi) is back and I am a happy man. She has redeemed the mistake that was her weakness and she was able to get through to Izzy. I cried a good amount there at the end.

  • Finn... oh, he's that guy that brings your roommate lunch when she's sad. Swoon.

  • Callie dancing in her pink panties... HOT!

See you all on the flipside!

Hiro's My HERO

Hands down the best character on HEROES with the coolest (and funniest at times) power is our friend from the East, HIRO! Sure he can teleport into the ladies room or across the world into Times Square but is that a bad thing? I mean after all, he's not slicing and dicing gangsters and leaving their endtrails on the floor!

Welcome my newest shop design...

So You Think You Can Dance Tour Report - Chicago

So you want to know if Donyelle is out of the tour? Want to know if Jessica has sabotaged the whole thing? And does Travis still have his racing stripe? Burning questions are answered in this week's recap. Here is rushmore with a report from Chicago!

CHICAGO - TOUR REPORT:
by rushmore

On a rainy night in Rosemont (outside Chicago), our favorite Top Ten gave an awesome show. It feels like forever since Benji was crowned America's Favorite Dancer, but when the Top Ten took the stage, it was like welcoming back dear friends after a brief vacation!

Since we are the what? 9th stop on the tour, I don't want to rehash a lot of what has been said already about the show. Here are my impressions:

  • All the dancers shared the hosting, but Benji took the lion's share and seemed to enjoy it the most. He never referred to himself as the winner of SYTYCD, just talked about how Cousin Heidi saved his butt when he was about to get eliminated, and consequently he is now a part of this great cast.

  • Could've done without the video presentation of the judges' favorite highlights from the auditions, but at least they left out Vomit Girl. Their #1 was a montage of break dancing by Six-Step Crew set to ballet music, which was really cool.

  • There was some banter about whether Benji and Donyelle are an item. Could've done without that. It felt like dialogue from a high-school play. Donyelle did not take part in most of the group dances - Jessica danced instead. But Donny did her solo and also stomped out the Hairspray number in addition to a couple others, so if she is hurting she is doing a great job of hiding it.

  • Jessica and Jaymz are listed in the program as understudies. We did not see Jaymz. Jessica looked to me like she was embarrassed to be onstage.

  • Ryan did a fair amount of bare-chested dancing, including the Cuban Rumba. He looked fabulous from the waist up - better than Dmitry, in my opinion. His solo pants have been mentioned by a previous reporter - like a long white flapping diaper - really distracting and quite ridiculous.

  • By far the biggest fan reactions were reserved for Ryan and Alison. Ali is adorable, with a megawatt smile. On this night I felt she was the strongest of the female dancers. However, it was great to see EVERYONE (with the notable exception of Jessica) dancing with the joy and passion we remember from the competition.

  • Thank you to the previous reporter who mentioned that a fan gave Travis the T-shirt with his face on it. He did not mention that when he came out onstage in Chicago, so it seemed pretty conceited to me.

  • I have a special place in my heart for Ivan. He is adorable. He obviously loved being onstage. He and Alison rocked the Argentine Tango. I was a teensy bit disappointed in the contemporary number set to "Why?" This was my absolute favorite number from the competition, but it didn't have the same intensity in the live show. I thought I remembered them wearing white flowy costumes during the competition, but on tour they were both wearing black. The Sexy Love number with the umbrellas is seriously cute. I did focus on Ivan during Sexy Back (although it was hard to take my eyes off Travis, he so dominates that number), and there is a reason Ivan is in the back. I swear I could see him counting out the steps. It's okay, Ivan, you're still the cutest.

  • Travis has grown out the racing stripes in his hair, thank God, but now Ivan has them! Groan. I just don't see the point.

  • Dmitry introduced a tribute to the other 10 dancers who rounded out the Top 20. Great to see Musa again, even though it was just onscreen. I would have loved to see any number by Natalie and Musa, although her samba with Dmitry was plenty hot.

  • Speaking of Nats, she is the most theatrical of the dancers. She is a drama queen for sure.

  • I agree with the previous reporter that the group dances were the best, especially without the crazy camera work, and I could have done without the solos. However, it was important to the flow of the show to intersperse the solos with the couples and group numbers as well as some video highlights. The show lasted 2 -1/2 hours including intermission - that is a lot of dancing, and they had as much energy in the finale as the opening number. The finale, BTW, followed the Hairspray number, so everyone came out in geeky Hairspray costumes (Travis had gold and white tiger-striped Spandex pants, about as far away from his usual cargo pants as you can imagine!) and they all danced to a few extra choruses of "You Can't Stop the Beat."

  • The crowd was a nice mix of families and teeny-boppers. I am old enough to remember Beatlemania, and the girls' screams reminded me of the concert scenes from A Hard Day's Night.

Sorry I have no pictures, there were signs all over saying No Photography, which I unfortunately took seriously. I was seriously pissed off/disappointed to see how flagrantly everyone else disregarded this policy. I may have been the only one in the place not taking pictures! This is my first dance show, I will know better next time.

I loved, loved, LOVED this show. I can't imagine a more entertaining way to spend an evening in the theater. The chemistry among the cast was amazing. How can next year's group possibly top it?

MSN, I Wish You Nothing But...

...headaches, disease, famine, drought, and death. I hope every member of the MSN team is beaten, bloodied, gang banged, donkey punched, fisted, pistol whipped, hogtied, hung, and skinned alive for the troubles they've caused me in the last 18 hours.

Not only does their msn video service not allow Mac users to indulge in their pleasures which completely ruined my night and morning; it also ruined my lunchtime. As I realized I could watch at work on my PC... Lunchtime is all set.

Um, an hour later I couldn't get the video to play. I called GMMR, she had it playing in 3 windows at the same time. Every other video on their stupid site would load instantly and play. Do you know how many times I saw some bearded douchebag from One Tree Hill introduce a DVD extra? Or how many times Kidnapped decided to play? Every video played except Veronica Mars. I tried for a full hour to get it to work and nothing.

I hope someone out there is happy. I hope that Bill Gates chokes tonight on his dinner served to him by a maid in his mansion on a silver platter. I hope said Maid decapitates Bill Gates with said silver platter making my day much brighter!

If you saw the premiere of Veronica Mars I hope you enjoyed it. Mock me if you will.

Veronica Mars' New Opening Credits!

The new opening credits that Rob talked about have found their way online. It's so great!

Dick and Logan in front of a GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS sign! HA! Mac all depressed looking. Piz and Parker are listed as well. Oh and Lamb's looking buff and hot! The final shots of Veronica are so damn hot! Sweet lord I cannot wait for this season to get into full swing!

Veoh took down the first one so thank goodness folks love them some youtube as well!

Veronica Mars Press Conference - Scoop Galore!

Veronica Mars Press Conference
*Some minor spoilers lurk in the shadows

To hype us all up for the Season 3 premiere of Veronica Mars on the new CW, last night Rob Thomas and Tina Majorino took the time out of their busy schedules to chat with their blogger friends in hopes of spreading the good word that is Veronica! As you read previously I was having some scheduling conflict issues with this press conference but I was able to sit in on almost the whole session and have some great news!

Veronica's a lesbian! Kidding. I did however follow up on a question I posed at the VM Bloggers Press Day last winter which was "WHERE ARE THE GAYS?"

As you know I've always thought Veronica could use a gay sidekick. Not that the person should be a regular or anything but someone that she's sassy and witty with that poses no relationship/love woes for her. Okay, so they kind of filled that void with Mac; yes she's straight but the two have this great witty comraderie so I kind of knew Rob Thomas' response before he answered. As a twist though I asked if Mac would question her sexuality because of her experiences with Cassidy.

Rob Thomas: As of right now we have no plan on Mac switching teams. There are some new key characters, who’s sexuality we don’t make a point to define, but I believe they are gay. As of yet we have yet to write a ‘gay’ storyline for the season.

I thought it was a legit question to ask. After traumatic sexual/relationship experiences younger women have at times searched for a comforting relationship that poses no threat to their physical being and in college especially they can turn to experimenting with other women. It's a phase issue (similar to what I believe was supposed to happen to Willow on 'Buffy' before Willow became the lesbian icon she did) that she could snap out of quickly so I just wanted to know.

Plus, she's a little dykey -- let's face it.

Okay so here is what we learned from Rob and Tina:

  • There will be major fallout from Beaver's actions for both Mac and Dick. It will be addressed in the first episode.

  • Rob Thomas loves recurring characters and hopes to work some Neptune High alum into the fray but at this time for instance, Butters has no plan of coming on this season. We will meet a new college recurring character named Chip and he's the President of the Pi Sigs.

  • When asked about the reception Jackie recieved and if this effected how he wrote new characters (namely Parker) Rob said that he does not let the reception of others interfere or influence how he wrote any new characters.

  • Tina loves playing Mac and finds her challenging. Mac will be going through some changes this season and it takes a lot of work to not change the character we've grown to love -- to keep her the same Mac!

  • Rob is finishing writing Episode 3.09 right now and this is the last episode of the first mini-mystery.

  • Rob will be directing Episode 3.09 as well!

  • The first mystery picks back up with the Hearst College Serial Rapist.

  • The second mystery will be introduced in Episode 3.09 but he wouldn't reveal what it was. He did however hint that he got the concept or idea while watching the Steven Soderberg film Bubble. This will be the first time VM leads up to a major mystery before its completely revealed.

  • We will find out what is in Kendall's briefcase in the first two episodes of the season.

  • There will be new opening titles (credits) that reflect a more grown up, noir, artsy Veronica Mars. Oh yeah and Rob never liked the titles that were attached to the first two seasons of the show. Thought they were very juvenile and didn't reflect what the show was truly about.

  • Tina will also be back on Big Love (HBO) this season. Busy gal.

To read a full transcript of the show, head on over to my pal The TV Addict's site. He was kind enough to fill me in (very quickly I might add) on the few questions I missed after I had to get off the conference early. Thanks Daniel!

And don't forget, if you are on a PC you can catch the Season 3 Premiere NOW online at MSN.

Veronica Mars Online and Scoop

I will post soon but blogger just got back up and running a minute ago. I was able to sit in on a good portion of the press conference last night and have some interesting tidbits to share.

Stay tuned.

Oh yeah and don't forget that the first episode of Season 3 began streaming online at msn last night! Go HEARST!

Supernatural Press Conference Rescheduled

So, its a blessing and a curse, the Supernatural Bloggers Press Conference was rescheduled. It will hopefully be next Tuesday so I can bring you some scoop not long after the premiere! I'll keep you posted.

Heroes - Pilot Review

Heroes - Pilot
*Spoilers Ahead - you've been warned!

Premieres: Monday, September 25, 2006
Time Slot: 9pm on NBC
Stars: Adrian Pasdar, Milo Ventimiglia, Hayden Panettiere, Ali Larter, Masi Oka, and Tawny Cypress, Greg Grunberg, and Sendhil Ramamurthy

Seriously weeks ago I tried to do a write up for this new Fall pilot. I found it hard to write about without spoiling many plot points or teasing too much that it just wouldn't be interesting (either that or I get lynched for spoiling too much). I've grappled with rewriting and decided I just need to do a posting where I say that I really loved Hereos.

Heroes is a very clever concept with an incredibly smart delivery which sets it apart from other "superhero" based programs. Heroes toys with average humans discovering they have superhuman abilities. Sure sounds old and done before but there's something fresh to this as a television program. It feels more like a feature film. The quality of the writing, the concept, and the acting are more on par with an excellent screenplay and world class acting than we're used to on television (with obvious exceptions in recent years). It's just a really high brow approach to television that mixes conventions and expectations from the genre.

Sure someone can fly, someone can teleport, someone seems indestructible, but there is an incredible sense of joy and sadness within each character that it's an incredibly humble and human work of fiction. It taps into those dreams we all had as kids (wanting to fly) and there is this great sense of freedom in realizing your dreams but there is a massive responsibility and consequence to these actions. This is what I cannot wait for the show to explore.

The pilot that is supposed to air tonight is the same version I saw months ago. It is an hour long episode that only introduces a handful of the cast. For instance, Greg Grunberg is not in the show at all yet he is one of the main stars. I cannot wait to see him next week. The pilot focuses on the characters played by Adrian Pasdar, Milo Ventimiglia, Hayden Panettiere, Ali Larter, Masi Oka, and Tawny Cypres, and Sendhil Ramamurthy.

There's a lot of humor, some darkness, some contemplative moments, and little conspiracy action thrown in to make this a very multi-dimensional pilot. It's character driven while still delivering on the action. It leaves a lot of room for growth and character development which to me is the sign of an incredible pilot. A must-see for the fall season!

Watch it tonight at 9pm on NBC.

Ugly Betty - Pilot Review

Ugly Betty - Pilot
*Spoilers Ahead - you've been warned!

Premieres: Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Time Slot: 8pm on ABC
Stars: America Ferrera, Eric Mabius, Vanessa Williams, Mark Indelicato, Alan Dale, Ana Ortiz, Tony Plana, Michael Urie, Becky Newton, Ashley Jensen

Ugly Betty is kinda like Ally McBeal... is that bad to say? I'm not talking post Billy 'look I've got a kid' Ally McBeal, I'm talking best of the best Ally episode Ally McBeal comparisons here. It's a dramedy based in reality with incredibly sweet, heartfelt, and truthful moments mixmashed with some super over the top surrealism for good measure. No there aren't dancing babies but I wouldn't put it past Vanessa L. Williams' character to eat a baby if it meant clawing her way to the top of Meade Publications or remaining a vision of beauty.

Like The Office, Ugly Betty is an import. It's the Americanized version of the telenovela "Betty La Fea" and produced by Salma Hayek (who has a hysterical cameo as a telenovela star herself).

America Ferrera is quite possibly the most likeable new talent in the fall lineup. I've not seen The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants but I have seen Real Women Have Curves and though she is much older now, she was incredible to watch in that film. I never realized that she would not only have the ability to play "ugly" but to have such comedic timing and the power to supress the instict to ham it up for realistic and at times crushing personal moments. She's just a joy to watch and she embodies this "ugly duckling" with such grace that you never mistake her for the fool.

The story goes like this... Betty Suarez from Queens interviews for a position with Meade Publications and doesn't even get an interview based on her "ugly" looks and horrid fashion sense. Betty eventually gets the job as assistant to the editor of their fashion magazine unfortch its because she's "ugly" and he won't try and sleep with her (how's that for a confidence booster). Fish out of water hijinks ensue, eventually Betty's tortured into quitting (I can't imagine mockery doing such a thing), Eric Mabius see's the error in his ways and Betty returns to save the day!

Yes there are cliches.

Yes, there are some ridiculous moments.

Yes, there is a bad actress in the mix *cough* Vanessa L. Williams *cough* but there are so many heartwarming and hysterical moments that the show works on so many levels.

America Ferrera is amazing to watch grow and blossom. Her tween gay nephew is a trip and you know what some of the bitchy and gay stereotypes present in the pilot actually made me chuckle quite a bit. Kudos to any show that has a line like "She's fabulously douche-y" I'm all about it!

I'm very interested to see where the show lands on the reality scale. Will it try to walk the line between absurd and realism or will it eventually pick sides? I'm tuning in until they make a decision!

Veronica Mars & Supernatural Scoop Is Coming...

As you may recall, last year I not only got to attend the Veronica Mars Bloggers Press Day which included a set visit and some alone time with cast and crew but I was also able to attend a Bloggers Press Conference with creator Rob Thomas and star Jason Dohring (god bless ya Logan). I'm happy to announce that tonight I will be attending another, this time with creator Rob Thomas and the newest full time series regular Tina Majorino (MAC ATTACK!).

There is good news and then there is bad news. The good news is, yeah how frakking cool! The scoop, the candid commentary, the gossip... hard to pass up right? Well here comes the bad news. Yeah, I'm working late tonight for a Best of Open Screenings series. I'm going to try my best to attend and get as much info as possible but in the event that I miss out on the goods, I will pass you along to the right bloggers for their recaps of the event.

Now, same goes for the Supernatural Press Conference. It's an hour before the VM one. Why am I working late tonight? I'm ready to stab someone. Maybe MEG? Okay so I'll admit I don't know a ton about Supernatural yet but if you've been reading you know that I've been playing catchup since the DVDs came out and I am absoloving the show. It's witty, scary, and Jared Padalecki is not too hard to watch for an hour at a time. Good god man!

I'm a little skeptical of attending though as I don't know how Season 1 ends yet. I've still got 9 episodes to go. Do I want to know more about MEG and what happened to Papa Winchester? I don't know!

Oh, and who caught the premiere of Cold Case last night? Did ya happen to notice our once innocent and loving friend Beaver Casablancas going all crazy on our asses again? Apparently Kyle Gallner has a dark side. He was pure evil again last night playing a Columbine-esque high school student that shoots up a mall. It was way intense and he was scary as frak. Dare I say a little sexy? HAHA!

'Without a Trace' Season 5 Preview

Why did they move this to Sundays and against Brothers and Sisters? Now I have to watch 2 things at 10pm. I curse you TV Gods.

'Veronica Mars' Sneak Peek

This is from the ET/CW Special that aired the other night. God I cannot wait another week and a half! Freaking out!

'Lost' Season 3 Preview

I wanna thank the TV Addict for posting this first. Wow, the first segment of Lost Season 3 looks intense. Is it Degrassi? Is it going there? You decide for yourself.

The Office Season 3 Premiere

First thoughts because seriously I've watched it twice now and I don't know what to write about. I'm sure before the weekend is over I'll have watched it a couple more times to absorb the more subtle moments. There are so many brilliant things going on in this episode and I want to ensure it all gets in there. Hell, I should just post the script for the episode, that would be easier.

OSCAR GETS OUTED!

"Faggy"

"I watch The L Word and Queer as F&%K" -- "That's not what it's called..."

Angela whips out the anti-bacterial hand sanitizer (don't wanna catch the AIDS Angela).

Dwight not understanding that gay men don't always wear women's clothing.

"She's hard and cold, she could be a gay woman..."

Creed's "a man may have slipped in, there's no way of knowing" comment! Spit take!

Michael proving a point after being called out and demanding a kiss from Oscar.

Even better, Pam's horrified face during the whole ordeal.

But better yet, Dwight continually trying to be like Michael. His step up to kiss Oscar was BRILLIANCE!

"That's what she said... and HE said."

JIM'S GONE!

Rashida Jones mimicking Jim's camera glances (genius) and her "What is that?" had me rolling!

"Big Tuna"

How quickly the calculator in the jello went wrong! Jim's shaking the head "no" to the camera in fear.

I love that Jim's new branch has to have a sexual harassment refresher coarse because of "another incident at the Scranton branch" - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

"I miss that"

OTHER GOODIES:

Dwight's fake cry-fest over Jim's leaving and the first scream on my part... "FALSE"

Stanley's toaster rant - his drawl just slays me.

"Fish or Chicken"

Roy's Mug Shot deserved a "replay" 3x and his tearing up while talking about losing Pam was amazing. David Denman is looking damn fine!

I'm sure I'm missing many things but off the top of my head these are the things that moved me most. Any fear I had going into this Season 3 opener were instantly squelched. They are back and in better than ever form. I can't wait to see where they go next. God its good. GMMR must have died.

How long before Jim's new branch goes under and the two branches are forced to merge like in the British version? I hope not too long, I can't stand having them apart for too long. Oh, how much did that Pam laugh and glance to Ryan break your heart? Or the last shot of her smiling quietly as the Gaydar came out of the box? Ahhhhhhhh...

Grey's Anatomy Season 3 Premiere

I'm sorry to say that I cried more at the preview on ABC.com yesterday than I did when it aired live last night. Maybe I'd watched it too many times so the drama and stigma attached to it had worn off or maybe it was that damn ticking clock that didn't incite anxiety in me but annoyance. I kept waiting for Kyle Chandler to explode again. Or for Callie to combust while cooking dinner for Izzy and the rest of the Siva-ites. Seriously with the ticking... seriously!

Overall though, a great episode of Grey's. Sure it probably would have worked better as a second episode (listen to this shit America, up in Canada they aired the wrong episode. They aired the 2nd episode of Season 3 instead of the premiere. Way to throw everyone off huh?) If you live in Canada (*cough* VANCE *cough*) and wanna do a quick write up as a sneak peek let me know.

I wanted more Izzy/Denny fall out. I wanted more of what the beginning of this episode was, with all of them there to help her. I wanted all of them to bond but mysteriously George and Karev were back at work -- it didn't gel with my plans on crying through the whole episode. Regardless, a good episode.

Christina was actually the one to break me most tonight. She made me chuckle best when she coined the phrase: "McGuilty" and made me cry most when she broke down in Burke's arms (reminiscent of Izzy lying with Denny's body in the finale). Though I do still wish they'd killed Burke instead of Denny I guess I will survive another season. Fiiiiiiine.

I don't know how I feel about the flashbacks. I understand their purpose and supposed significance but again I feel that they took me out of the emotions bouncing off the walls in the current storyline. I liked the tone of the epsiode and the the notion that our lives change in an instant. The flashbacks represented the changes in our beloved interns lives (through the pre-intern party) and the fall-out of the Derek/Addison/Mark incident (prompting Derek to move to Seatlle and meet Meredith). Kate Walsh secured an Emmy nom last night with both her flashback performance and her teen witch hunt scenes. She was vulnerable and broken but you can tell she's about to make a decision that will change her life (ie. leave Derek once and for all). I even loved seeing Meredith as she was in the first very first episode. It was a more bubbly Meredith... it was Pre-DARK and TWISTY Meredith! Some actresses change so much over the course of a series that they can never reclaim the original character they played (*cough* Jennifer Aniston *cough*) and I'm glad to see Ellen Pompeo can still pull off both.

Callie is a series regular this season but if George doesn't hurry up and catch on to the fact that she is seriously the coolest chick ever I pray she moves on without a tear. She's dark and twisty but still lively. She's found joy in life even though she's homeless and has no friends. I appreciate that! Her spirit makes me happy. George, why I oughta... If this falls through, it looked to me like Callie and McVet had some chemistry there. That would be hot too!

My last rant of the posting will be about Dr. Bailey. Hey Shonda, where's the Nazi gone? I'm having a hard time accepting the forced projecting Dr. Miranda Bailey had last night. I'm not saying she can't have range and emotions. I'm just saying that the way her meltdown was written didn't work for me. Sure she's guilty for not doing more with Izzy and Denny. Sure she's broken down by losing a patient like Denny. Sure her god-complex is wavering but I never bought it last night. Is it the writing or the acting? Hard to tell. I might watch it again to see where I land on this fence.

Highlight Phrases of the Night:

Meredith:
"Last night I lost my panties..."

Callie: "I'm a total freak; I'm that girl in the back of the class that eats her hair!"

The whole "Dark and Twisty" thing

The Music:

Dixie Chicks - Taking the Long Way - Lullaby
"Lullaby" Dixie Chicks(opening scenes with Izzy on floor)

Grant Lee Phillips - Nineteeneighties - Under the Milky Way
"Under The Milky Way" by Grant Lee Philips (Meredith/Derek Meeting in Bar)

So You Think You Can Dance Tour Report - St. Louis

ST. LOUIS - TOUR REPORT:
by Lizymae

Hi from St. Loius!
After two hours of sleep in the last 48 hours and a flight in from Tulsa, Oklahoma, I finally got to see our favorite top ten perform. My friend (who needs to remain nameless due to work reasons) got me started watching the show at the end of last season. Last year I didn't really like the show, but I thought there was so much personality this year that I became totally immersed with SYTYCD! Oh yeah, and I called it that Benji would win the whole thing when the top 20 was announced, so to see him perform live made my year.

I'm not going to bore you with the full show rundown since its been posted in every report as before, but I do have some high (and low) lights for ya.

First up, the intro rocks introducing everyone, and Technologic was sweet. By the way, I'm a HUGE fan of European dance music. It was awesome to see my favorite routine ever, Benji and Heidi's US Open West Coast Swing winning routine performed live ... I couldn't wipe the smile off my face!

I just want to note that all the solo routines were really good. I couldn't imagine the tour without the solo's. The soloist that had most matured since the TV show was Allison. Her routine was set to an electronic dance song by Bjork, and she was wearing black dance shorts with a sporty long sleeved black shirt. It was more playful and different than her usual lyrical routine, but I loved it! Expect the unexpected! (*note from ducky: Is Julie Chen in the house?)

Everyone is getting better at MCing the show, but my boy Benji has a calling in doing impersonations. He did Zoolander, Nigel, and his español es muy bueno. There was a hiccup in programming where they started Natalie's video, but switched it to Martha's. So it wasn't too distracting. They ended with my favorite group routine, Sexyback, before intermission ... But I'll tell ya about that in a bit.

Make sure you're boned up on your SYTYCD trivia, so you can see how many questions you can answer correct! Which of your favorite dancers sleeps naked? :)

The second half opened with Ramalama, which I loved also. I do have to say it lost some drama without all the makeup, but Natalie & Allison have the best expressions to pull it off. Throughout the night I have to add that Ivan & Dan's BF Travis Wall had some killer moves and impressed me over and over.

Ok, now here's the heartbreaker of the evening. I noticed that right after Benji's solo they did 'You Can't Stop the Beat'. Martha was his partner for the duet portion of the performance, and then I realized what I saw in Sexyback ... Donyelle left the stage right after the top 4 portion of the dance but before the song ended. Donny's solo was supposed to be in the second half of the show, and she didn't do a solo. I'm not sure when she got hurt, but it was sometime early. She made it through as long as she could I believe, but it seems she has hurt herself. Hopefully she will be ok, so lets all say a little prayer for her.

The show ended a little early and I think there was a little chaos, but everyone was extremely professional and they were having a lot of fun. A couple other sidenotes: Heidi bobbled at the end of Black Mambo where she spins under Benji's leg, but it was kinda funny and the new dress was cool. Tranji should have their own comedy show together, and Jessica danced quite a bit tonight especially after intermission, Jaymz danced twice. I would expect to see more of Jessica in the next few shows.

The Fox theater did not let us bring any camera's in, but some previous correspondents have amazing pics so check them out! The cast had a meet and greet after the show so we did not get to meet them outside, my friend and I waited an hour and they were just starting the other meeting, so no autographs either. I loved the show, totally worth it so spend the cash and go check them out! I'll have more on my trip to St. Louis posted by Monday, so please feel free to check out my blog on myspace ... http://blog.myspace.com/lizymae

America's Next Top Model Premiere

Top Model Returns With a Bang!

Every season I wonder if there is a possible way of topping the crazy bitches from the season prior and you know what... it always delivers. Deluded Jade was a serious highlight last season as she brought the crazy scale to new heights. This season we've got multiple uber-personalities to deal with.

Top on my list of those that just aint right:

Melissa Rose, er, Melrose. I predicted way back when the cast photos came out that Melrose would be a royal pain in the ass and nuttier than Chinese Chicken Salad and you know what... I was right. Not only does she go by the name Melrose because Melissa Rose is just too much to handle, she also bosses everyone around, and became a diva in 0.9 seconds. She won the first runway challenge and her prize was a "Diva for a Day" type getup with personal assistant and massage. When she arrived on set for her photo shoot was she not 15 minutes late and slinging fierce Whitney attitude at Jay? Then after all her divatude she didn't have the talent to back it up. She looked like an old haggard hooker instead of a model that won't get out of bed for less than 10,000/day. Then she cried, cried, cried. Honey, if I've learned anything in all these seasons of ANTM being a bitch and bossing people around wins you no friends.

Next up is Monique. For reals on what planet does this girl live? She steals another models bed, pretends to piss on it, then offers to fight the rightful owner. Chiiiiiild please. Next morning she tells the rest of the contestants that she will not compromise on her shower time because an hour is what it takes to make Monique beautiful. Honey, you aint got enough time in the day to make that inside any less ugly. Crazy ass.

Third on my list is the way too bubbly and babblin' Brooke. This Reese Witherspoon-lite with her pointed chin and white girl rap needs to go. There is no part of her that says Model but many parts of her that says crazy. If I was standing on that side podium waiting for Tyra to call my name as one of the Top 21 I would jump off and punch this girl square in her pointy chin for thinking she can rhyme and rap. Girl don't you know every other contestant is dying inside waiting to hear their name called and you just prolonging the agony... Something about a bottle and being on Top Model -- SHUT IT!

Now, here are my favorites (based on personality and/or looks):

A.J. was my initial pick to win based solely on the photos I posted when the 13 finalists were announced weeks back. There is something so edgy and string-bean to her that she looks the most like a high-fashion model. She's very Stella Tennent with her androgeny and punk edge. Her photo was slamming too! Super hot! She's still #1 on my list.

Next is the sporty twin Michelle. Her bulemic photo shoot was so dirty bath water Fiona Apple it was uncanny! I like both the twins but Michelle at the moment has an edge. She doesn't care about modelling as much as her sister Amanda does so I think that's what's allowing her to be so free and expressive.

Twin Amanda. Beside her sister, Amanda is the most CK model in the bunch. The gaunt, anorexic look is so 90s high-fashion that I'm all about bringing it back into vogue. What better girl(s) than one of the twins.

For personality I really appreciate Megan and CariDee. They both gave excellent face and both have this sweet nature to them. CariDee is a little on the whorey side with her photos but Megan is all class (those finger waves...
girl...); I'd like to see them go far.

Can we talk Tyra for a second? I'm not one to put down the fuller figures. I love me some meat on the bones (hey now Tocara) but Tyra needs to lay off the ribs! The only vitamins she needs to be taking are called FEN-FEN! Illegal but somethings gotta give. She's looking like a mini-Aretha! They stuffed her into that judging and elimination gown and at one point when she was having her "model stereotype" hissy-fit she threw up her arms and Los Angeles thought they were having another earthquake from the momentum those ham-hocks made when she tossed em up.

I understand she doesn't want to be a waif. I understand she's trying to be a role model for the non-stereotype beautiful bodies but when you were once a Victoria's Secret and SI model it's hard to forgive those extra lbs. All I'm saying.

Now let's talk about her model comparisons. This week I will begin a new segment in which I try to reenact and capture the ridiculously miniscule (mostly unnoticable) differences she gives as pointers in the judging sessions.
"It's not this... it's THIS" You know the ones I'm talking about. She opens her eyes one way so we can see how it makes a model look vacant (lets say) and then she opens them the exact same way but somehow we're supposed to see how it livens the model's face! It's so retarded I love it.

The premiere was chock-full too! See the difference... duh!

So yes, Top Model is back and yes, I absoloves it! I wish it was on 5 nights a week. I can't get enough.

The Office Season 3 Premiere's Tonight!

So if you are just dying for The Office scoop and are even slightly obsessed, head on over to my friend GMMR's site as she is afterall the Office Aficionado.

Here's a clip courtesy of her site to tease you into a frenzy. Seriously folks, check her site out regularly today as she can't stop posting about the show.

And don't forget tonight she'll be hosting her first live chat of the season over on BuddyTV.com. Here's a link to sign up and join her.

Grey's Anatomy Season Premiere Sneak Peek Clip

Okay, here is a link to a preview from tonight's premiere of Grey's. I'm not gonna lie, within 20 seconds of the clip starting I had tears streaming down my face. I'm so gay. Just you wait though... when Bailey leans down and apologizes, FORGET IT!

Tears commence tonight...

Grey's Creator Shonda Rhimes has issued a new blog posting over at their abc blog. It's a great welcome back from our fearless leader (who gained some fears already this fall). To tempt you here is my favorite part which now means I need to spend an extra hour tonight rewatching the series premiere on dvd.

  • The first episode (which is called “Time Has Come Today”) deals with, not just the aftermath, but also with the past. I encourage you to watch the original very first episode of Grey’s Anatomy from Season One because, if you pay attention to the dialogue and the details, you will be rewarded in this premiere episode with some (hopefully) very interesting tidbits. And I hate the word “tidbits” but it does describe what I mean perfectly. This first episode of Season Three is meant to reward hardcore fans -- it’s also meant to bring us to a place where we can say goodbye to Denny as well as deal with the Mer/Der/Finn of it all. Just remember that nothing is ever wrapped up easily on this show. Because things aren’t neat and clean in real life.

Gayken Dodges Balls... flying at his face...

Aiken Offers Non-Answer to Gay Question
'American Idol' runner-up releases new album
September 20 2006

If the measure of a man is his sexual orientation, then Clay Aiken refuses to be sized up.

The "American Idol" runner-up, who's making the rounds promoting his latest album, proved to be a slippery fish in a People interview in which he addressed the persistent rumors that he's gay.

"What do you say [to that question]?" says Aiken, who's now sporting longer, darker hair. "It's like when I was 8. I remember something would get broken in the house, and Mom and Dad would call me in and say, 'Did you do this?' Well, it didn't matter what I said. The only thing they would believe was yes ... People are going to believe what they want."

In a 2003 Rolling Stone interview, Aiken stated that he wasn't gay, but since then, his alleged homosexuality has become fodder for jokes in the entertainment media and rampant speculation in the tabloids. Earlier this year, The National Enquirer even claimed it had proof that he had a liason with another man.

Aiken, 27, views stories like this as a learning experience.

"I'm becoming a man, not just with my hair, but with my life," he says. "This year's been an education: the education of Clay. I learned this year that you can't make people like you or care about you or love you"

Aiken also discussed his personal future plans.

"I want to be a father so badly. I want [kids] one day. Not now," he says. "I would love to adopt. There's an orphanage not too far from my house, and I've been up before with church. I always thought, 'What happens to those kids who have the potential to go to college but just can't afford it?' I've been thinking a lot lately about finding a way to pay for one of those kids to go to college."

The popular singer also suffers from panic attacks, which first began when his stepfather died in 2002 and continued through his "American Idol" experience.

"I'd walk into a room and say to myself, 'I am not going to have a problem when these people stare at me,'" he recalls. "But then [in] that situation, my heart would start pumping, and I'd start sweating and looking around nervously and shaking. I felt like I was going to have a heart attack."

Since then, he's been taking the anti-anxiety drug Paxil.

"I said [to my doctor], 'Listen, I don't want to go to a therapist. I have nothing against therapists. I want to think I can do this on my own,'" he explains. "And she recommended that I try a medication. ... Now I can sit here; I can go into a store; I can handle a photo shoot. I'm able to get rid of all that stuff in the periphery. It makes everything easier."

The full People interview can be found on newstands Friday, Sept. 22. Aiken addresses many of the same issues on ABC's "Good Morning America" the day before.

Aiken's 2003 debut album, "Measure of a Man," sold 2.6 million copies. His fourth album, "A Thousand Different Ways," drops on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Jericho - Series Premiere & Press Conference

Jericho
Airing: CBS - Wednesday's @ 8pm
Cast: Skeet Ulrich, Gerald McRaney, Ashley Scott, Pamela Reed, Kenneth Mitchell, Lennie James, Sprague Grayden, Michael Gaston, Erik Knudsen, Brad Beyer. Shoshannah Stern

So folks, I just finished watching the first two episodes of CBS's newest drama Jericho starring Skeet Ulrich from the "dead too soon" Miracles and Scream fame. There is good news and there is not so good news.

The good news is that Skeet's on TV. Also good is the cast. Gerald McRaney has always been a great actor (not so much with Major Dad but Kudos to his portrayal of Dash Goff in Designing Women) and once again he is this force of security and strength as Jericho's Mayor. Pamela Reed is always a treat. Shoshannah Stern is turning into my new favorite supporting player. I love her on Weeds and here in Jericho her character has this incredible vulnerability but a sense of power that will be interesting to watch develop. I don't know tons about Ashley Scott but what I've seen from the first two episodes she's not half bad. My favorite bit of casting is Brad Beyer because he is the douchebag roommate to Christian Campbell's character in Trick. He dates that girl that doesn't know that the hell a Whiffenpoof is... genius.

Plot wise there is a lot going on and that is both good and bad. I love the isolation, post-apocolyptic, desperation, and survival aspect to the show but then there is this action-adventure, mysterious identity, who-done it portion that bothers me as it seems out of place. It will be interesting as the season plays out to see how they balance this genre overload. I say stick to the isolation and survival roles as those tap into the climate our country lives in today. Sure we're not in a post-apocolyptic age but we are living with fear daily of terrorism and forms of destruction and because of these real threats those themes have resonance.

The bad? Well really my only complaint is the "I know every skill known to man" personality that Skeet's character Jake has. Sure he's mysterious and we don't know much about him but does he really know how to perform a tracheotomy with Capri Sun straws, how to drive a bus with severe head wounds, fix an engine, plan fall-out shelter evacuations, and finally how to shoot a gun Jack Bauer style while saving the town single-handedly? We need more information on Jake's background.

We need more information on what is going on in the town and in the outside world. Are we to believe it's nuclear? Is it other-worldly? Is it an act of god? There are too many questions not neven touched upon at the end of Episode 2 that it worries me. What direction is the show going in?

Well folks I have some answers for you as I just got finished with the Jericho Bloggers Press Conference. I won't lie... it was a little rough in the beginning but Executive Producer Jon Turteltaub was sarcastic and embraced the akward silences (internet/phone delay) and Skeet was great, he rolled with the punches and seemed happy to be on the show and working with Jon.

Minor Spoilers Ahead...

  • Jon mentioned that yes, the show will deal greatly with the supposed "nuclear" fallout, how it happened, and why. Though obviously not too much will be revealed as the show will shift focus somewhat to character development and interaction.

  • He'd also like the show to live long enough for them to really explore the themes of isolation especially with Americans who have a strong pride and sense of being American and what that means if this community is shut off from the rest of the world.

  • Jon did spoil that not everyone from the Pilot will live to see episode 9.

  • We will eventually (but apparently very slowly) learn why Skeet's character Jake initially left Jericho and where he's been.

  • Jon teased that Mr. Hawkins is not exactly who he has presented himself to be to the town. Well duh, he's so shady even elms are jealous.

  • Jon has the first year mapped out though he is interested in audience feedback (and blogger input) to see if they are on mark with the show's direction and character development.

  • The first episode represents the first 17 hours of the initial blast. The second covers 8-12 hours (continuous from the first), then they'll explore the first few weeks before opening up the show's timeline.

  • I was able to ask a question about Viral Marketing and the role bloggers play in promoting shows. He said that viral marketing was a oxymoron of sorts and that having "Bloggers Press Conferences" and reaching out to bloggers is a double edge sword as we could just as easily trash a show as we could praise one. He thinks its important for word of mouth and for feedback. Works for us, huh kids?

There were some interesting questions and comments overall. I appreciated their candor and sense of humor about the whole thing. I also really latched on to their realistic approach to the show's future.

Please tune in tomorrow night at 8pm on CBS for the Series Premiere of Jericho as its quite the pilot. As I said, I am more than happy to see where the show goes in the future. And hey, it's Skeet Ulrich. Come on folks...

Studio 60 - Pilot

This right here is pretty much the best 4 minutes of television in years.

I found the premiere to be frantic but not overbearing. I found it funny without being snippy. I found the flow of dialogue to be incredibly relaxed and flawless in delivery. I found myself wanting to watch the show again... for the third time! I found Matthew Perry to be charming and so NOT Chandler. I found Amanda Peet surprisingly likeable and I'm rooting for her! I found myself wanting to actually see what Studio 60 produces because it can't be worse than SNL. I found that I wasn't annoyed by Sarah Paulson's lisp nor was I turned off by Bradley Whitford's hair. I found Judd Hirsch to be unbelievably brilliant and the comparisons to Network are spot on and incredibly relevant today.

I will tune in again and again.

CBS Pilots and Premieres

I just wanted to take a second to thank the powers that be at CBS for sending me a great gift basket at work! When I arrived back to work from my AIDS Ride I found a lovely package full of tv presents... the Fall Pilots and Premieres for the CBS Shows.

Tonight I will also be attending a bloggers press conference for their new show Jehrico starring the usually hot but sometimes slimey Skeet Ulrich. Being a huge fan of Scream and Miracles, this is a great treat! I will bring you some gossip on from the conference and my thoughts on the first two episodes later.

Also on tap are the first few eps of The Class, The Unit, Smith, Shark, and much much more! CBS sure knows how to treat their blog friends!

Stay tuned and don't forget tonight is the premire of Smith starring Ray Liota and Virginia Madsen.

So You Think You Can Dance Tour Report - Portland

PORTLAND - TOUR REPORT:
by Chrissy

Let me just start off by saying that if you don’t have tickets, GET tickets!! The show is amazing! Better than I ever expected!

They do all of your favorites from the bench dance with Travis & Heidi “Calling you”, to Ivan & Allison’s contemporary “Why”, to Donyelle & Benji’s hip hop “Too much booty” and many many more!

The dancers do many group dances with slight differences from the show. Sexy Back, Cell Block Tango, Technologic, Disco and Hip Hop.

To describe each of them in one word:
Benji is Entertaining
Travis is Breathtaking
Donyelle is Affectionate
Heidi is Energetic
Ivan is Personable
Natalie is Bubbly
Allison is Beautiful
Ryan is Graceful
Martha is Charming
Dmitry is Hot

After the show I met and got autographs from almost all of the dancers by the buses. They are all very personable and very thankful for their fans and the support.

My final thought is “If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would pay whatever and go where ever to see them again & again!!!!”

So You Think You Can Dance Tour Report - Oakland

OAKLAND - TOUR REPORT:
by
Trish

Let me begin by saying two things key to this recap: 1) I am pretty much obsessed with SYTYCD, and I've given up trying to play it cool; I finally admitted to everyone (including some clients...yes, clients), that I lluuuurrrrvve the show and that my Tivo is having an intimate relationship with several dancers and a British man named Nigel. And 2) As a thirtysomething woman hooked on the show, I had no contemporaries who were fellow fans, so I invited a dear friend of mine -- let's call her Ann -- to the tour. And even though she hadn't seen even one episode and knew nothing about the show whatsoever, she graciously agreed to accompany me to the September 15 show in Oakland. I knew this was risky, but my options were limited. Plus, she loved the Paramount, and now having been there, I can see why. I'd be willing bet Oakland's Paramount Theater is the most stunning venue to house the tour. It is an art deco palace with gorgeous fine detail on walls, ceilings and proscenium that, quite literally, took my breath away.

The great thing about taking Ann with me to the show was the perspective she provided. I love to watch and rewatch the performances, but I realize I can no longer look at any of the dancers or dance routines with fresh eyes. Shortly after "2 Much Booty" began toward the beginning of the show, it dawned on me that much of what I love about that routine is now nostalgic. The reason that number made such a HUGE impression on viewers when it was first performed was because no one, NO ONE, was expecting to see the geeky white Mormon boy shake his booty that way. Just the thought of Benji's crazy gyrations after sliding under and through Donyelle's legs makes me blush. I didn't experience all of that juicy newness at the concert, but it was a lovely, fun way to pay tribute in person to how much fun and joy the dancers brought into our living rooms for nearly three months.

What numbers did they perform? It might be quicker if I listed the few they did not perform. Because that show was chock full of dancing. Each of the top 10 had a solo, which I have to say wasn't really necessary. Short of Benji's routine -- an ode to Fred Astaire involving the song "Dream a Little Dream" and a rag mop that soon shifted to "Land of a Thousand Dances" by Wilson Picket -- none of the rest of the solos were especially memorable. Everyone did well, but it's much more interesting and fun to see the partnering and connections within duets and group numbers...for which there was no shortage whatsoever. If you had a favorite number, odds are it was performed.

The show started with intros followed by the Brian Friedman-choreographed "Technologic," a number that kick-started the crowd. The show moved along at a nice clip, with the dancers doing a pretty good job at emceeing. Some were a little more stiff than others (COUGH* Ryan, Martha, Allison *COUGH). Some were quite comfortable (Hi, Travis and Ivan!). And one was so good it was as if he was born with a mic in his hand (zoom in on Benji). An early number and a new addition was the award-winning West Coast Swing routine performed by U.S. Champions and cousins Benji and Heidi, which....Wow. Travis had a whole lot going on in the first half, performing the Paso Doble with Heidi, the contemporary "Georgia on My Mind" routine with Donyelle, a gorgeous new contemporary routine with Natalie that he choreographed himself, and "Steam Heat" with Martha. That last number was part of a Bob Fosse medley, which featured Allison and Ryan's "Bye, Bye Blackbird" -- nicely filled out with the rest of the female dancers -- and "Cell Block Tango"

It was around this time that I had my run-in with the usher. Before the show began, an announcement was made that no flash photography was allowed -- and lucky for me, my camera was taking great shots with no flash and in low light. So I had been snapping away, capturing some amazing moments, and all of a sudden, Grumpy Old Man Usher rushes toward me and tells me that no photography is allowed. Whuhhh? He didn't take my explanation about there not being a flash, and he was insistent about the general ban on picture-taking, so I resigned myself to sitting with my camera in my lap. But bummed.

A Hip Hop medley transitioned from Martha and Ivan's krumping to the Shane Sparks' "Poison" group routine, and into "Gyrate" with the dorktastic duo, Tranji, which was unsurprisingly a huge hit. Allison and Ivan brought screams of delight with their first Argentine Tango, and Dmitry and Natalie steamed up the stage (seriously -- check the photos) with the Samba they originally performed during the TV show's finale. The first half of the show closed with a very cool expanded version of "Sexy Back" that incorporated all of the dancers, yet still highlighted the final four. Benji sent the audience off to intermission in giggles with his best Zoolander impression. And that was just half of the show. Didn't I say it was jam-packed?!

Bringing the screams to a fever pitch was the opening for the second half -- "Ramalama Bang Bang." While still a great number, a little of the drama was lost in translation from the show to the stage -- the dramatic descent on the
staircases was sorely missed. And I didn't notice until I got home and looked at my photos that Jessica was dancing in place of Allison. The good news? I found my courage and brought the camera out of retirement -- taking stealthy, no-flash pictures when the ushers were looking away.

Next up was Travis and Heidi's contemporary routine with the bench -- a huge hit with the crowd, as was Travis' solo. I think it's safe to say that Dan's BF Travis? Has a huge fan base (and many wannabe BFs and GFs) in the Bay Area.

Benji and Donyelle's Viennese Waltz was accompanied by a humongous killer disco ball (which...okay). Ryan played Heidi's bongos in the Cuban Rumba (I was surprised it was included, actually). Benji and Heidi killed the Mambo (Heidi in a hot new orange costume), and the audience rewarded them with a well-deserved standing ovation (my friend Ann said this was the only number that looked truly professional and bowled her over...maybe she's secretly been talking to Dan Karaty?). Ivan and Allison's umbrella number to "Sexy Love" was incredibly well received (a lot of Ivan fans in the house). And probably the most authentic, surprising and memorable moment of the night happened when Dmitry was on stage, dressed in sweats and a SYTYCD T-shirt introducing a video segment on the Top 20. The room was really quiet, with everyone listening carefully (I think trying to maneuver his lovely accent), and during a pause, a woman yelled out at full voice, "TAKE IT OFF!" And the crowd went ballistic. Clapping, hooting, hollering and whistling went on for a good three minutes. For a while there, I thought he'd remove the shirt just to quiet us down, but he didn't. Instead, he stood there, with his head hanging, laughing and shaking his head. And, I like to imagine, blushing. (BTW: Dmitry = Sex on Legs. Yum.)

A disco medley began with Natalie and Dmitry dancing what appeared to be the routine she originally performed with Musa to "Disco Inferno," followed by the group dancing to "Born to be Alive" -- with Travis taking over Benji's pimp role by dancing simultaneously with Allison and Heidi. Later, Allison and Ivan's contemporary routine to "Why" brought the house to its feet, which...I just don't get (and friend Ann really couldn't fathom), but good for them. At this point, Travis came out and talked to the audience wearing a T-shirt bearing a huge image of his face, and he sweetly
thanked the girl in the audience who gave it to him before the show (very cool). He then gave a nice intro to Benji and Donyelle's Broadway number to "You Can't Stop the Beat." They were great, and it's hard to describe, but the energy in the room became more charged as they performed. Then the dancers came out one by one and took their bows (to the soothing sounds of Cat Deeley's recorded voice), took a group bow and left the stage. Then, they walked back out onto stage again as the applause continued and asked the crowd if we wanted more. And of course we did. "You Can't Stop the Beat" started up again, and they all danced the hell out of it, including a tumbling run by Dan's BF Travis. And if the room was charged before? By now, it was electric. I get a funny feeling in my throat when I think about it. Everyone was on their feet, and the dancers were on fire, and it was a perfect way to close the show. So. Damn. Fun. I get emotional thinking about it.

I was looking forward to getting some photos or video of crazed fangirls for this recap, but those that were there were apparently laying low (and probably seated in the balcony). The Oakland show's crowd skewed older than I e
xpected, with lots of 20-something girls, but plenty of families, as well. In front of me was a husband and wife with their young son; behind me was a married couple in their 70s. Certainly speaks to the diverse appeal of the show.

I didn't wait around to try and meet the dancers after the show, though I heard that some people had great success. But even without meeting the dancers, the show was still a lovely evening, and a great way to cap off wh
at turned out to be a memorable, dance-filled summer. If you're scheduled to catch the show, you won't be sorry. Especially since they are only going to get better and more comfortable with the staging, the dialogue and the banter as the weeks go by. It was neat to be one of the first in the U.S. to catch the show, but I bet the audiences toward the end of the tour (Hello, Providence!) are going to be especially fortunate.
