SYTYCD Winner Turns Down Celine's Offer
It appears that Benji Schwimmer, winner of So You Think You Can Dance Season 2 has officially nixed the offer to dance in Celine's Vegas Extravaganza. Thanks to an email from Seriously, OMGWTF? and a link to this article, Benji says:
"That really wasn't my genre of dance ... It's an honor, [but] that'd be like an environmental lawyer with a contract to represent O.J. Simpson."

I am glad Benji turned it down. This just shows how stupid it was to offer a genre-specific prize to a non-genre-specific contest. It would be like if the prize on American Idol was being in a production of Sound of Music and Chris Daughtry won. Maybe next year the producers will think this all the way through.

I saw this one coming back when it was the final 4. Why would Benji want to dance in Celine's show? He has plenty of opportunities that he'll enjoy much more. In Celine, he would have not only played first fiddle, but would be about 10th.
