Nip/Tuck to Shoot J.R.
Sanaa Lathan's Nip/Tuck sugardaddy has been cast, and he is a major Nelson. Larry Hagman of I Dream of Jeannie and Dallas fame will guest-star on the FX drama next season, playing Lathan's wealthy older hubby who buys McNamara/Troy. Also slated to drop by the series: Kathleen Turner, as a phone-sex operator who seeks the docs' help in rejuvenating her husky voice through vocal-cord surgery, and Brooke Shields, playing a shrink in Calvin Klein jeans whom Troy confides.

Everwood Ratings!
I've got good news and bad news about the ratings for last night's Everwood swan song. The good news? The two-hour tearjerker averaged four million viewers — a very respectable figure considering it was buried in June and had to compete with the finales of Deal or No Deal and The Apprentice. And now for the bad news: That number probably wasn't high enough to force an about-face by CW. And that's a cryin' shame. But let's focus on the positive, shall we? At least Everwood went out with its head held high. As Matt Roush so eloquently pointed out in his Dispatch this morning, Everwood proved itself a class act to the very end. And there ain't nothin' sad about that.
From Ask Ausiello:
Question: Now that Everwood has been unceremoniously dumped by CW, are there any plans to release Season 2 (not to mention 3 and 4) on DVD? — Molly
Ausiello: A spokeswoman for Warner Home Video says, "there are no plans at this time." Strange, considering Everwood's first season DVD currently ranks No. 9 on Amazon.com's list of top DVD sellers.
